living coasts is closed for now...

Following Government advice on social distancing, we have made the decision to close to guests from 10:00am, Monday 23rd March 2020.

Given the current circumstances with the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, our doors will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Please be assured that our incredible animal care staff will be continuing to work hard to look after all of our animal residents during this uncertain time.

We really hope that this closure is a temporary measure and we look forward to welcoming you back to the zoo as soon as we can.

Look after yourselves and each other and we will see you soon. Best wishes, the LC team.

Frequently asked questions:

How long will living coasts be closed for?

Unfortunately at this point, we simply do not know. We will be monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will provide updates as soon as we're able.

What will happen to my Annual Pass?

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support we receive from our Annual Pass holders. Due to the current situation, we are pausing all Annual Passes. This means that the Annual Passes will be extended by the amount of time that we have to remain closed, from when we re-open. For example, if we are closed for one month, Annual Passes will be extended for one month and so on.

What will happen to my pre-paid ticket, Zooper ticket or 7-day Return ticket?

All of the tickets mentioned above will be extended by the amount of time that we have to remain closed, from when we re-open. For example, if we are closed for one month, these tickets' expiry date will be extended for one month and so on.

If I have an animal experience booked, what will happen to my booking?

If you have a pre-booked animal experience, regrettably it will not be able to take place whilst we are closed. In this instance a member of our team will get in touch with you directly to rearrange.

If you have paid for an experience or have a gift voucher and do not yet have a confirmed date then please do not contact us until we re-open.

Can we donate to you / how can we support you?

As a wildlife conservation charity, we rely on the support of our visitors to enable us to continue with the care of our animals here at Living Coasts and with vital conservation projects overseas.
We would be incredibly grateful for any support you can offer during this uncertain time. Here are some of the best ways you can support us:

  • Why not adopt one of our amazing animals? Find out more here.
Please note: you can adopt an animal now but will not receive the animal adoption gift pack until we re-open.
  •  Support us with a donation amount of your choice. Any amount you can donate would make a huge difference. Find our direct donation page here.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak our volunteering programme has been suspended and we currently do not have any volunteer opportunities available for you to register your interest in. We are therefore not able to take up any offers of volunteering support, although we greatly appreciate you thinking of supporting us in this way during this time.

Will the animals be looked after?

Rest assured, our amazing keeper teams will continue to care for all our animals whilst we are closed.
