Penguin art wings its way to Living Coasts
Published: 11th Sep 2014A teenage artist has her first public exhibition at the place that inspired her work. Resi Heil, a German international student at Trinity School in Teignmouth, created the paintings as part of her A Level Fine Art exam.
Head of Art Patrick Cairns was so impressed by her work that he felt it deserved a wider audience: “So many people remarked on the paintings. I know Living Coasts well, and I realized they would look great there, so I got in touch!”
Meanwhile, 19 year old Resi, who comes from just outside Frankfurt in Western Germany, has completed her studies in South Devon and been accepted onto a course at the prestigious Miami Ad School in Hamburg.
Patrick: “Resi’s work was always highly experimental, she loved exploring new materials, techniques and processes so at this point in her life she did not have a particular style of her own. She studied publicity materials for Living Coasts when she embarked on the paintings.”
