Finding the perfect Devonshire Cream Tea

Cream Tea
14 August 2008

Living Coasts has been searching for the best local produce to make our Cream Teas a little more special this summer.

Our head chef has tried and tested some of Devon’s richest and creamiest clotted creams and we have now satisfied ourselves that Langage Farm Clotted Cream, made from the milk of Jersey and Guernsey cows on the farm at Smithaleigh in Devon, is the ultimate compliment for our locally baked scones.

Tony Perkins, Living Coasts’ Head Chef says, “To prepare your Cream Tea in proper Devon fashion you have to cut your scone in half horizontally then first spread a thick layer of clotted cream on each half. Finish with a spoonful of a quality strawberry jam. Shear heaven from Devon.”

At Living Coasts you can enjoy a Devonshire Cream Tea while looking out on Torbay’s finest view from our café and panoramic terrace. The cafe is open to the general public all year round.
