Join our team of highly qualified zookeepers for a day as they take care of our penguins, fur seals, puffins and birds.

The cost of our Adult Keeper Experience is £80 and this includes a lunch voucher, a special certificate, and a special gift to remember your day.

Keeper Experience - A Typical Day
This is an example of the type of day you will have at Living Coasts if you join us:

9.00 Welcome by our keepers

9.30 Help prepare fish and other feeds for the day

10.30 Feed the penguins with the keepers

10.45 Time to stop for a well earned cup of tea

11.15 Prepare feed and treats for the seals

11.45 Feed the seals, waders and sea ducks

1.00 Enjoy lunch in the Cafe with the voucher in your goody bag!

2.00 Time to go home and put your feet up or continue to explore the site!

Be a Junior Keeper Experience
For ages 8-15 years old 9am until 1pm follows a similar programme giving an insight behind the scenes and feeding some of our inhabitants. This costs £60 and they will also receive a goody bag.

Feed the Penguins Experience
Join our keeper team as they prepare a feed for our fascinating African and Macaroni Penguins. Then help with the feed itself, giving you a chance to get closer to these amazing animals than ever before.

Starting at 10am and lasts approx 1 hour with the keepers to coincide with the 10:30am feed, at a price of £45, min age 8 years to adults and includes drink and a snack and you/they will receive a goody bag and entry to Living Coasts for the day

General Information regarding all the above:
All the above experiences are available on any day of the week (subject to staffing), booking in advance is essential however, if you do not wish to book a specific date then we can provide a voucher to enable the recipient to book it themselves which is valid for 12 months. Please note the minimum age for the adult keeper experience is 16 years old, 8-15 years for the Junior Day and 8 years upwards for the Penguin Feed.
