GLOW

3 January 2012

Special half term activities

Living Coasts is lighting up this winter with the help of the “Glowing” species of our oceans. Bioluminescence otherwise know as “living light”, is a natural phenomenon that can occur throughout our oceans as well as on land. It is the production and emission of light by a living organism. Many species exhibit this type of behaviour, from fireflies (Lampyridae) to cookie cutter sharks (Isistius brasiliensis). Come to Living Coasts and find out how, why and who make their own light! Our team of presenters will be on hand to answer all your burning questions.

Extra activities and games throughout the half term week will help shine a light on some of these “Glowing” species.
Join us for face painting, bubble machines, group activities and more!!

Interact in our NEW glowing underwater world at under 5’s play area and help add to our animal collection by creating your very own “glowing” species!

New bioluminescent video and trail with prizes to be won!!

We look forward to seeing you soon!
