The education department at Living Coasts is divided between formal education and informal education for our daily visitors.

Clare Rugg - Senior Educator
Clare received a first degree in Biology from Plymouth University which led to her working in pollution ecology research of the freshwater and marine environments. Achievement of a PGCE at Exeter was followed by teaching in the Primary classroom. Clare has been an Educator at Living Coasts since it opened in 2003 and currently also lectures in Marine Conservation at Bridgewater College.

Rachel Crabtree – Assistant Educator
Rachel graduated from Aberystwyth University with an honours degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology. She has previously worked at Newfound Harbour Marine Institute in Florida, teaching marine biology to children of various ages and also has experience working with children in outdoor education.

Hayley Worsfold - Senior Presenter
Hayley graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with an honours degree in Animal Behaviour. She previously worked as a Presenter at BugWorld Experience and Colchester Zoo as well as carrying out research within a zoological setting both at Living Coasts (whilst on placement) and Paignton Zoo (dissertation project).
