A few months ago the penguin patrollers were watching us all and making notes on when we were swimming. This time they are only making notes on the Macaroni penguins, but why? (Click the title to read more)

It started about two or three weeks ago. I noticed that our patrollers have a clipboard that they keep making notes on throughout the day. Albert said he had seen them put the clipboard in the patrol hut when they are not using it, so I went down to take a look.

All the columns had a heading at the top, the first said “date” then “10am” with all the hours all the way to “5pm”. Below each of the hours was the name of a penguin or a colour. Not all of the penguins are as lucky or as important as me so they haven’t all been given names. One row read; Corin, Corin, Blue, Blue, Blue. What did it mean?

I thought about it and then went to see the Macaronis where I spoke to Corin. She told me that Blue was sat on their egg now, but she had been sat on it till about earlier. I think they are keeping a record of who is sat on the eggs. Now all I need to do is find out why!

Why don’t you come down to penguin beach and ask the penguin patrollers for me?
