Watching you, watching me!
After noticing the penguin patrollers were making notes on our behaviour last week, I have decided to make some notes on human behaviour for myself. (Click the link to read more)
I spent most of my day watching people and this is what I observed:
8am: Keepers arrive with our fish breakfast; then rake and clean our beach.
10am: Penguin patroller Kim arrives, she just watches us, well me really. Visitors start to arrive and they watch me too.
10.30am: Keepers bring some more fish. The presenter gives a talk to the people who have been watching me, mainly about me.
11am: People take pictures of me, while Kim talks to them.
12.20pm: Derek who looks after our water came to check everything was ok.
1pm: More visitors take pictures of me.
2.30pm: Fish time and another talk about me, lots of people come and take more photos of me.
3pm: Kim the patroller is still watching me, taking notes and talking to people about me.
3.30pm: The keepers and other staff keep coming and hugging Kim and saying, “Good luck”. I wonder what that is all about?
3.45pm: More fish.
4pm: Still watching me.
4.15pm: Kim looks really sad. I know she hates not seeing me everyday.
4.30pm: Kim leaves for the day.
The same seems to happen everyday so I don’t think I’ll spend any more time writing it down. I need to spend most of my time preening to keep my feathers at their best for the photos!
I’ll write soon,
Love Ping x
