January 20th was Pat's 31st birthday. Pat is the most famous penguin I know, because she is the oldest African penguin on our beach. She is also one of the nicest. (Click on the title link to read more.)

The keepers are making a big fuss of her, and there were lots of people who came to take her photograph. Maybe she will have her picture in the paper again, then she may have had more publicity than any other penguin from Devon ever! Of course with all the photographers about I tried to get myself photographed too, because one day I would like to be as famous as Pat.

One of the best things about this week was that we got to play with bubbles! One of our keepers came and put this machine on our beach, switched it on, and bubbles started popping out. It seems that the keepers have decided that bubbles are good for us to play with; I whole heartedly agree, it was so much fun chasing them across the beach when they got caught by the wind!

We all had so much fun, even Pat, and we can't wait to do it again soon, but I think we need a few days to recover our energy first!
