Happy New Year everybody! I can't believe that the festive period has gone so quickly, I'm sorry I didn't write but not only was there Christmas and New Year, it was also my birthday! (Click the title to read more.)

I had a lovely present of fish from my family, and all my friends gave me fish too. Thank you to those of you who came to visit me and join in the celebrations, although I understand the recent cold weather may have put some of you off. I don't mind the cold as I'm used to it, but I watch you humans standing and shivering in the cold wind and rain watching us day after day, and I really have to wonder why?

I watch you because you are there, and I especially like this time of year when people come in with long scarves for me to try and nibble, but you never seem to put on enough clothes to keep you warm enough.

This leads me to think that you are either not very well prepared when going outdoors, or that we penguins are so fantastic that you have to watch us whenever possible. I think it is the second reason, and I thank you, it is a great privilege to know penguins are so well loved.
