The Mysterious Mangroves is a major underwater exhibit based on a mangrove swamp habitat
The giant aquarium tanks contain over 20 species. Mangroves are very delicate and complex ecosystems. They’re the only species of tree that lives in the sea and have special adaptations so they can survive in salt water.
Mangroves act as a vital nursery ground for many species of fish and are found in places as diverse as Bangladesh, Florida, the Philippines, Thailand, Guyana and Sri Lanka.
This little gem was so much more than I expected.
The presenter talks were great, we learnt a lot about the animals here.
The kids loved their visit and watched the penguins being fed. The talks on the animals are really informative. They have great Seals to see and a massive octopus!
