About us

Living Coasts is an innovative coastal zoo and discovery centre where you can take a journey around the coasts of the world and see amazing animals and plants in specially-designed naturalistic habitats. It is an educational and scientific charity dedicated to conserving our global wildlife heritage and inspiring its visitors to have a life long respect for animals and the environment.

Living Coasts is a member of several professional zoo associations and operates within strict ethical guidelines. The WWCT (opens in new window) Animal Ethics Committee is responsible for developing and monitoring the ethics policies of all the WWCT zoos, Living Coasts, Paignton Zoo and Newquay Zoo. The committee includes members of zoo staff, external experts and lay people. Copies of our ethical policies can be obtained on request by e-mailing info@livingcoasts.org.uk.
